Our Approach to Executive Search
Our approach is to understand our client’s unique and specific needs at the inception of the executive search process. We spend significant time with organizational leaders; our executive recruiters immerse themselves in the organizational culture, priorities, challenges, and opportunities to fully understand and develop a pathway to a successful engagement. This approach necessitates personal and direct lines of communication. Furthering the process, we assist with the development of a Statement of Requirements that is a distillation of what we have learned through the assessment and additional research. This allows our corporate headhunters to encourage top candidates to see themselves transitioning to your institution – a candidate who aligns for the chief enrollment officer, chief financial officer, or president of a particular institution may not be culturally suited to another.
We then utilize our networks and research capabilities, within particular areas of industry, to identify candidates who will bring the specific leadership qualities and experiences our client seeks. Given our understanding of the opportunity and existent culture, we will encourage a committee to consider candidates who may be a bit “outside of the box.” When we identify candidates who align with the opportunity, we investigate the aspects of “how” and “why” they will fit into this role. Will the candidate align with the campus culture? How does the person make decisions under duress? Do they encourage or inhibit elements that create successful team environments? What are the methods used for conflict resolution?
During the final step, our executive recruiters will assist, if desired, with the final selection of a candidate. As well as offer a continued relationship that seeks to offer consultation throughout the transition of leadership.
